The people who review applications and deliver our work are employed by Arcanys group companies in the Philippines (Arc Remote, Inc., XLR8 Ventures Inc. and Cebu & Ever Source Inc.) and act on our instructions under duties of confidentiality.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Assess an application, hold screening calls and carry out technical and financial due diligence | Taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement, and our legitimate interest in finding and assessing investments |
| Make and manage an investment, including the work our team does for a portfolio company | Performance of our agreements and our legitimate interests |
| Admit investors to a fund, carry out identity, anti-money-laundering and tax checks, and report to investors | Legal obligations and performance of the subscription agreement |
| Contact founders, investors and partners we have identified ourselves, including through investor networks and associations we belong to | Our legitimate interest in building relationships relevant to our business. You can ask us to stop at any time |
| Send you the Fund 3 deck and follow up on your request | Your request for the deck and for us to contact you |
| Send news or updates by email | Your consent, or our legitimate interest where you are an existing contact and the law allows it. Every email lets you unsubscribe |
| Run, secure and improve the site | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure site |
| Comply with the law and establish or defend legal claims | Legal obligations and our legitimate interests |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights. You can ask us for details.
4. AI tools and automated decisions
We use software, including AI tools, to help us read and summarise applications, compare them with our investment criteria, and transcribe and summarise calls. These tools process the application data, professional background and call content described above.
No investment decision is made by software alone. A member of our investment team reviews every application, and our partners make every investment decision. Some tools produce an initial assessment or score that our team takes into account. If you think a decision about you was affected by an automated assessment, you can ask a person to review it.
Our AI and transcription providers process data on our behalf and under contract. We use settings that stop them from using your data to train their models.
5. Calls and recordings
We record and transcribe calls with a note-taking tool so we can keep accurate notes. Please assume that any call with us is recorded. We also mention it at the start of the recording. If you prefer not to be recorded, tell us before or during the call and we will take notes by hand. We keep recordings and transcripts for the period set out in section 8.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with others for their own marketing.
We share personal data only with:
- Arcanys group companies, including the engineers and product specialists who carry out technical reviews and work with portfolio companies, all bound by confidentiality.
- Our fund administrator, auditors and tax advisers, for investor data.
- Other investors in a company's funding round, only with the founder's agreement.
- Our lawyers, accountants and other professional advisers.
- Service providers who act on our instructions, for hosting and analytics, online forms, our CRM, email and documents, internal collaboration, call transcription, AI tools and document sharing. A list of our main providers is available on request.
- Courts, regulators and authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
- A buyer or successor of all or part of our business, under confidentiality.
7. International transfers
We work from Switzerland, the Philippines and Australia, our Fund 3 vehicle is in Singapore, and some of our service providers are in the European Union and the United States. Your personal data may therefore be accessed or stored in those countries.
When we transfer personal data to a country whose law the Swiss, EU or UK authorities do not consider adequate, we use safeguards recognised by those authorities, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the Swiss and UK addenda, or certification of the recipient under the EU-US or Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
8. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Applications we do not take forward | 24 months from our last contact, so we can look at your company again at a later round. Then we delete or anonymise it |
| Portfolio company data | For as long as we hold the investment, then for the period required by law |
| Investor identity, anti-money-laundering and transaction records | For the period required by the anti-money-laundering and tax laws that apply to the fund |
| Call recordings and transcripts | 12 months. Written summaries stay with our record of the relationship |
| Relationship records for founders, investors and partners | While the relationship is active and 3 years after our last contact |
| Website analytics | Aggregated statistics only; no individual profiles are kept |
| Email preferences | Until you unsubscribe, plus a record of the unsubscribe so we do not contact you again |
9. How we protect it
We use reputable cloud providers, access controls limited to people who need the data, encryption in transit, and confidentiality duties for everyone who works with us. No system is completely secure. If a security breach is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you whether we hold personal data about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your data, or restrict how we use it;
- stop using your data for direct marketing, or on the basis of our legitimate interests;
- give you data you provided in a portable format;
- have a person review a decision that was based on an automated assessment.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, use our privacy and legal requests page, call us on +63 32 239 5794, or write to us at the address in section 16. We reply within one month and may need to confirm your identity first.
You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (Switzerland), the authority in your EU country, the Information Commissioner's Office (UK), the National Privacy Commission (Philippines), the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or the Personal Data Protection Commission (Singapore). We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
11. Cookies and analytics
We keep the site light. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.
- Forms. The apply form and the Fund 3 request form send your answers to Jotform, our form provider. The apply page loads Jotform's scripts, which may set cookies needed for the form to work. Jotform stores this data in the United States and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss equivalents.
- Fonts. Our fonts are served from our own site, so no data goes to a font provider.
If we add any cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this section.
12. Emails from us
When you request the Fund 3 deck, we use your email address to send it and to follow up. We send other updates only where you have agreed or the law allows it, and every email lets you unsubscribe.
13. Children
The site is meant for founders, investors and professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
14. Other websites
The site links to other websites, such as our portfolio companies, award organisers and LinkedIn. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
15. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will tell you on the site or by email.
